They encourage that any restructuring should be based on renewed willingness/ability to repay and must be arranged wi th the banks policies.They note that lenders should work with borrowers who have a legitimate claim to financial hardship. These concerns are shared with the OCC and FDIC they are even allowing institutions to go against GAAP. The Federal Reserve is really helping borrowers and investors by encouraging lenders to be as transparent as possible.
